ShareMatelica and the wine hills

A cycling tour of great scenic and cultural charm. It starts from the central square of Matelica towards Braccano and arrives at the Casette San Domenico district, where you can admire a pretty chapel and Villa Berta, recently restored. Not far away is the 13th century former Convent of San Giovanni di Foro. Returning to the street of the Casette San Domenico district, you reach Braccano, located at 454 meters above sea level, in an environment of extraordinary beauty. The hamlet, bathed by the homonymous stream that descends from the Abbey of Roti. Since 2001 it has become the "Country of Murals". We continue our ride towards Grimaldi, a small village surrounded by nature on the slopes of Monte San Vicino. We continue towards Cerreto d'Esi and then continue our beautiful ride towards the beautiful wine hills. Thanks to the richness of the woods, fauna, botany and art history, this area lends itself to a very pleasant stay framed by the characteristic flavors of local cuisine and the production of fine wines, the undisputed prince of which is Verdicchio di Matelica. Verdicchio is recognized as a D.O.C. on 21 July 1967 and Riserva D.O.C.G. in 2009. The production area is located in the heart of the Upper Esina Valley, embracing the municipalities of Camerino, Castelraimondo, Cerreto d’Esi, Esanatoglia, Fabriano, Gagliole and Matelica. Pedaling through vineyards ... the experience becomes one of a kind.
