Cupramontana is a small town located at 505 meters above sea level. The name derives from the goddess Cupra, the goddess of fertility, is called "the capital of Verdicchio" because it is located in the center of the production area of the classic Verdicchio of the castles of Jesi. For those who want to take this route in October, the Grape Festival is definitely not to be missed, certainly one of the most beautiful festivals dedicated to wine. The start of the route is near the center of Cupramontana near the Colle Elisa park, an ideal destination for a bit of refreshment in the summer inside which there is a bar for catering and a fountain for water, all immersed in a rich vegetation, in the square there is also a pizzeria and a nearby car park. It starts on asphalt in the direction of Apiro where the Abbey of Beato Angelo overlooks on the left and undoubtedly deserves a visit, shortly after you turn right and embark on a descent on a dirt road which soon becomes a challenging climb but which allows you to enjoy however the beautiful views of the countryside full of vineyards with the feeling of being inside a painting. You continue to pedal on a dirt road along the hillside along the countryside with a view of the surrounding mountains, in the foreground and clearly distinguishable Mount San Vicino (1480 meters above sea level) with its rounded shape. The dense vegetation of this mountain area in summer takes on an intense green color that gives truly relaxing sensations, on clear days the Sibillini mountains are also visible. After a stretch of dirt road and a slightly demanding descent (if you are not sure it is better to get off the bike) you cross the asphalt road and continue on the right towards the baseball field which you pass up to a new stretch of dirt road that leads at the entrance of the path that leads our itinerary towards the Hermitage of the White Friars. Take the dirt road which initially does not involve great difficulties but then requires a certain technique in the descent so it is preferable to go down if you are not sure. After a wooden bridge, the path becomes easier to pedal and in a few meters you will find yourself immersed in the truly special spectacle offered by the Hermitage of the White Friars. After a stop that this place deserves, we head towards the exit from the Eremo area slightly downhill on a white road under a beautiful refreshing wood along a small stream and then turn and go along a dirt road uphill towards the San Giovanni district proceeding on asphalt until you reach the center of Cupramontana and return to the starting point of the tour.
