Day four starts in Genga, a town surrounded by a chain of rocky crags. An ascent to Colle Giglioni is followed by a downhill stretch to the town of Matelica, the city of Verdicchio di Matelica.
Cycling through a picturesque valley, you come into San Severino Marche, a city of art. Another ascent then brings you to Serrapetrona and Lake Caccamo. Continuing along the valley of the river Chienti as far as Polverina, with a final uphill push, you arrive in the village of Fiastra, a gem in the Macerata region at the heart of the Sibillini Mountains National Park.
