WALKING PETRIOLO
The old town centre is surrounded by medieval castle walls, but with an eighteenth-century urban plan with a breathtaking view. Piazza San Martino is dominated by the Palazzo Comunale, the Chiesa di S. Martino and Marco, the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Misericordia and the Museum dei Legni Processionali where are collected paintings of De Magistris and Durante Nobili and various pieces of furniture for processions and religious functions. A small Chiesa del Suffragio is to be found in Via Martello now a Museum, dedicated to the sculptor Diego De Minicis.
